Leigh Country – Valentines Day

With February 14th quickly approaching, the one thought on most people's minds is that of Valentine's Day.  With the country's current state today, the usual Valentine's day plans are proving not to be the most plausible for most. Many couples are opting to stay home for the romantic holiday, whether by choice or by law.  However, that doesn't mean that the day can't be just as romantic as it all boils down to setting the proper mood.

More often than not, the celebration of choice is a candlelight dinner for two.  Again, this is usually enjoyed at a restaurant of the lover's choice, but a romantic celebration can also be done at home.  Giving attention to the proper mood of the setting can result in a special Valentine's day that both parties will find memorable.

There are numerous ways in which to set the mood to celebrate the romantic holiday—whether you prepare a formal dinner or opt for take-out from your favorite restaurant.  There is, however, more to the celebration than just the food, and we will look at a few ideas that will help you get in the mood and not have to leave the comfort of your home.

The first place to start is the location.  Although it would be perfectly fine to have a romantic dinner indoors, choosing to move it outdoors gives it a little extra sense of romance.  The strategic placement of various candles around the dining area not only offers a romantic glow but will also serve to create a heavenly smell.

There is also the choice of adding some vases of flowers, perhaps those of pink, white, or red long-stemmed roses here and there, to take the romance level up a notch.  Next would be the setting of the table. For this, you will need a table and two chairs—and why not use the Sequoia Folding Bistro Set that we offer here at Leigh Country.

A pretty tablecloth placed on the bistro table, with a single rose in a tall vase, will set the mood.  If the rose in the vase is not to your liking, perhaps a martini glass filled with water.  You can then float some rose petals and tealights in it to give an extra added romantic feel.

Placements in colors that compliment the tablecloth can be placed across from one another for an extra pop of color.  If you really want to turn up the romance, the sprinkling of rose petals on the bistro table will serve to provide a substantial romantic impact.

Next will come the table setting.  Place a plate on each placemat. Make sure to place the silverware and color-coordinated napkin on each side of the plate, with the fork placed on the napkin itself.

Perhaps a bottle of champagne chilling next to the table would be a little extra added treat that would go heavenly with the meal.  And don’t forget the dessert for your sweetheart!

The final touch would be the placement of blank note cards on the table.  With these note cards, you will be able to write each other notes of love and adornment—in true Valentine’s Day fashion.

On the other hand, if you choose to have your dinner indoors, all of these additional touches may be used, but with the extra added benefit of being able to dim the lights low and romantic.  Although the holiday is usually played up grand, don’t be afraid to keep your celebration simple.  There is something to be said for simplicity, and when you really think about it, the holiday is about being with the one that you love and who loves you, no matter what setting is involved.

We here at Leigh Country know that celebration during the current pandemic can be somewhat stressful to plan.  That is why we feel that with the proper preparations, you are sure to pull off one of the most romantic Valentine's Day celebrations ever.

From our family to yours, enjoy the holiday with one another, and continue to make memories that will last a lifetime with your special someone.
